DODSON RETURNS TO PODIUM AT "KANSAS LOTTERY 100"

GREENFIELD, IN (October 2, 2007) – Cameron Dodson didn’t hit the jackpot at Kansas Speedway’s USAC Silver Crown™ hosted event but he did return to the podium for the third time this season.  Dodson, 19, drove his Carl Edwards/R.E. Technologies Ford No. 199 to an impressive third place finish as Nextel Cup star JJ Yeley dominated all sixty-seven circuits of the “Kansas Lottery 100”.
 
“I’m always excited to get on a track like Kansas Speedway. It’s a beautiful facility and a fun place to race at,” commented Dodson.  “The Carl Edwards/R.E. Technologies team always gives me a competitive race car. They are a great group of people to work with and are extremely well-prepared.  And to have someone I admire so much like Carl [Edwards] as a car owner, coach and mentor, I feel really fortunate to have this opportunity to race for them especially here at his home track.”
 
The young Hoosier open-wheel standout qualified fifth but continued to advance while Yeley remained on point.  Dodson made several bids for the runner-up position but fell shy to veteran contender Wayne Reutimann, Jr. but still crossed the stripe in third ahead of Jerry Coons Jr. and series’ point leader Bud Kaeding.
 
“We struggled to find grip all day long but that seems to be what many teams were saying about the track,” the Hoosier native added.  “Our car handled extremely well but we were just a little too loose exiting the corner and that slight loss of speed is what kept us out of victory lane but we were able to earn another strong finish thanks to my hardworking crew and this Ford team.”
